LPTV definition:

On each channel, full-power stations are listed first, followed by low-power operations. In the USA, "full-power" stations are required to use a minimum of 100 watts ERP; with one exception, stations actually use much more power. "Low-power" stations are limited to 3KW on VHF, 150KW UHF, though most use much less. It's easy to tell the difference, as the FCC marks records as "TV" for full-power, "TX" for low-power.

In Canada, it's somewhat more difficult. There are several classes of "regular" station, and at least two classes of "relay" station. In smaller communities, "regular" stations may use as little as 5 watts of power -- and "relay" stations may use as much as 300KW or more. For the purposes of the TV Database Online, Canadian VHF stations of 1KW or more, and UHF stations of 50KW or more, are considered "full-power". Others are considered "low-power".

I don't have technical information on most Mexican stations. For the purposes of this database, all Mexican stations are considered "full-power". In fact, I'm sure many listed stations use only a few watts of power - but I don't know which ones.
